Welcome to change
I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role as your therapist is to collaborate with you in building a path forward that aligns with your values and experiences.
You’ve made it this far - now let’s see it through.
Let’s work together to find the values, actions, and solutions that work for you. My goal in therapy is to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with you, so we can collaborate on integrating lasting changes in your life.

Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma is a very complicated subject. It impacts almost every aspect of our health. It doesn’t discriminate based on any quantifiable factor. We have a lot of evidence to back up how trauma lives in our bodies, how it permeates our daily living, how it can destroy relationships. And yet…it seems like society continues to hold on the archaic beliefs surrounding trauma, including the benefits of therapy.
To keep a very long story short, trauma is subjective, perceptive, and embodied; which means that as a therapist, I am working with those factors, not against them.

Eating Disorders
The truth of the matter is, most of us (including myself!) have experienced some level of disordered eating. These behaviors can include counting calories excessively, restricting, bingeing, going along with every new fad diet, detoxing…just to name a few. These are all pervasive experiences in the modern American world. Seriously - that sh*t is everywhere. The issues really rear their ugly heads when those behaviors start to dictate how and why we live our lives through what and when we eat and drink.

LGBTQIA+
The gay community knows better than any hetero - we’re prone to increased levels of depression, anxiety, eating disorders (surprise!), mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma…the list is long. Sadly, life as a queer person is not always rainbows and sunshine. But it doesn’t mean we are held captive by these diagnoses! We’re also resilient, creative, adaptable, intuitive, determined, ambitious - we’re survivalists, really (especially in this economy).
Therapy Approaches
Here are a few therapies and theories I like to use in session.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based therapeutic approach that helps individuals accept their thoughts and emotions rather than fighting or avoiding them. It encourages psychological flexibility by guiding people to align their actions with their values, even in the presence of discomfort. Through acceptance, mindfulness, and committed action, ACT fosters personal growth and well-being.
-
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is a goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on finding practical solutions rather than analyzing problems. It helps individuals identify their strengths, build on past successes, and develop strategies to create positive change in a short time. SFT emphasizes future possibilities and encourages clients to take small, actionable steps toward their goals.
-
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a structured, evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals recover from trauma, particularly PTSD. It focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs related to the traumatic event, helping clients reframe their thoughts and reduce distress. Through guided reflection and cognitive restructuring, CPT fosters healing and emotional resilience.
-
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered counseling approach that helps individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change. It strengthens motivation by fostering a collaborative, nonjudgmental conversation that enhances a person’s confidence and commitment to making positive life changes. MI emphasizes empathy, active listening, and empowering clients to make their own choices.
